I used to go to Andronico's Market alot when I lived in Berkeley. It was a convenient walking distance and the place carried everything I needed. The place was always clean and brightly lit. They have a great selection of cooked food at their take-out which was very convenient when I was too tired or too lazy to cook for myself and didn't want to bother with a restaurant.

They also carry bulk soil, decorative rocks and mulch. I found the sales people to be helpful and their plants look fresh.

The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk amusement park is a great place to go with the family. My kids loved playing on the beach and riding on the different amusement rides. There is no admission fee, you just need to buy tickets for the rides. The place does get pretty crowded so it's best to come early.

We were looking for some ballet dancewear for my two year old and we could not find a place that sell them in her size. Target & Mervyn's dancewear were just to big for her. So we found this place located in a shopping area in Walnut Creek. They have a pretty nice selection of dancewear and we found her size which was important. Their prices though were a little more expensive than Target & Mervyn's.

This is the Sweet Potatoes outlet store in Albany. My wife loves to go there and, of course, drags me along. Anyway, I don't mind if she saves money and this place is a lot cheaper that the actual retail store in Berkeley. They have a large selection of kids clothing discounted up to 70% off that I've noticed.

This a pretty nice place that we discovered one day. My kids love it riding all the different kiddy rides. What's great about it is that they don't have an admission fee. You just buy tickets for the rides you want to ride. They also have a train that goes around the whole park. The train conductor is a pretty funny guy and does some antics while he drives the train.

I have been to Norm's Bait & Tackle only a couple of times with my cousin and uncle on our way to their favorite fishing spot. It's a pretty comprehensive bait & tackle store carrying all you would need for a fishing trip. I was impressed by how nice the people were in suggesting what type of bait would be best to use for what type of fish you plan on catching. It was an educational experience for me at least.

The Island Pacific Supermarket is a great asian foods grocery store. A friend told me about it and I went with the family to take a look. It's a pretty large grocery store with fresh seafood, meat, produce, some baked goods, and aisles of asian foods. We drop by here often whenever my family and I visit the relatives in Vallejo.
