They keep a neat-and-tidy place, which means they fit well in Ladera (they even have flower boxes around all the gas pumps). Another key intangible -- a few years ago, they agreed to minimize their advertising signage along Alpine Road, to keep in the character of the area.

If you're holding a party and want to have great BBQ catered at a reasonable price, Dave & Betty Gonzales are your people. They do a great job, and are very helpful. We used them for my college alumni picnic, and they were very flexible throughout the planning and day of the event. People love their BBQ and other food too. I highly recommend them. Cost for us was $18/person for ~70 people.

These folks are great -- I had to get a small order of helium balloons for a picnic which is only 2 days away, and they were happy to accomodate on short notice, and for only a $35 order. Great...
