There's two trips you can choose from; a half day trip up the Loxahatchee River with a stop at Trapper Nelson's house before heading back, or a full day excursion that takes you through Jonathon Dickenon State Park and bus drives you back to your car. Either way it is an enjoyable trek.
I've been several times and each time was different from the last. Once, the water was so low we had to pull our canoes over tree roots, another time we saw a six foot alligator sunning itself on the bank.
Don't be too scared about the gators; except for the one sunning itself, I haven't seen any on my trips--at least not swimming near us.
