The Beverly Hills Hotel is a five star hotel all the way. The rooms are oversized to say the least. The bathrooms are huge. I had a drink in the Polo Lounge and really enjoyed the atmosphere. The pool is spectacular. I heard the bungalows are fantastic but I did not have a chance to see one. This place is definitely not cheap. I believe the rate was about $350 per night.

I believe Chinois is owned by Wolfgang Puck. The food is fantastic and inexpensive. Located in Caesar's Palace in the forum shop area the restaurant is tastefully decorated. The atmosphere is very casual. The wait staff is very attentive. The restaurant has a pretty good wine list that is also not outrageuosly priced.

Older kids will have a blast and new rides are constantly being added. As with any park, food and drinks inside are expensive so bring your own.

Johnny Brown is a nice guy and you can flip for drinks with him. Be forewarned that if you lose, you pay and he picks the drink, which is usually Jaegermeister.

The area is like a desert and with the intense heat the animals do not move much. The children's area is fun for little kids. You can even make arrangements to camp in the park.

It allows one to get a feel for the park prior to walking around. The bonobos are fun to watch. The children's section is incredible. This is a great family outing.

Jack Murphy Stadium, now called Qualcomm Stadium, is a great place to watch the Chargers play. Tailgating has a different meaning when it occurs in temperatures in the seventies. The team is improving which makes it more exciting. Fans tend to be fair weathered fans, but I understand given that there is so much to do in San Diego. Regardless, when in San Diego during football season it would be wise to try and see a game.

Street vendors are always present and you can have your palm read, watch performers juggle items, or watch mimes. There are lots of museums to see as well. There are fees for the museums but if you go on Tuesdays, one of the museums will be free (it alternates).

If you can speak japanese at all be sure to use it and order anything you desire, even if it is not on the menu. They will definitely accomodate. The atmosphere is casual. The cost is not very expensive.
