Friendly help for new tank owners

I just want to say that I am new to the world of fish and fish tanks. I went into this small store, it looks really small on the exterior but they have a large supply stocked inside. The people who work at the store have always been understanding and helpful. The staff seems to really care about fish and their environment. The lady offered to help and teach me how to set up my filter system (even without a purchase). They explained things to me I never thought about, like:
Gravel, natural is better for your fish
Fish choice, make sure you get fish that get along together
Overall, it was nice to be able to go in and out and have no pressure to buy things I did not need. They don't want to sell you things that won't work for you, or that are not good for fish in general.
