This art museum is free of admission, although they do appreciate donations. They display great artworks of all centuries. Although I do not know a lot about art myself, I have to say that it is a great place to take friends or a date and just spend a day to pick each other's brains. It is a nice quiet environment to simply appreciate the arts of different cultures and times. Plus its right next to the Museum of Innovation, so you could hop over there after checking this one out.

As a former 1st grade teacher, I recommend this museum to children of all ages. They offer fun cultural activies such as corn-husk doll making (Hopi Indians), to making other art projects, learning about today's technology, science of the human body, space, etc. This museum shows kids that there is a world of science around them that they can explore. Some of my former students were so captivated by the museum, they told me that they would one day be interested in a career in science. However, you may want to get a pass that admits you more than once, because the museum is much to big to explore all in 1 day.

This is a great family hangout if you have very young children in the family. The offer season passes or a one day $1.00 admission. The park is not too big, yet it is a place the young ones will enjoy and you can spend a few hours here easily. There are animals, puppet shows, rides, jungle gyms, etc. You don't have to spend tons of money on food either. There is plenty of greenery for you to just set up your own lunch from home. Best of all, its around the downtown San Jose area so its not far from the buzz.

This Amusement park goes for about $45/ ticket, but is good for the whole season. They divided the park up into sections for kids and a section for the older kids and adults. The kids sections are themed after cartoons such as scooby doo and have exciting roller coaster rides for young ones. For the adults, there are outrageous rides, such as Top Gun, Vortex, Drop Zone, etc. The food court is filled with great food (thats bad for your health). There are gift shops, shows, and movies for those who fear roller coasters. Plus, their water rides are awesome!

This place offers a variety of authentic Chinese dishes. They offer mainstream dishes like chow mein and fried rice to more authentic dishes that are rarely found here in America. This restaurant is normally packed and the food is very flavorful. Best of all the price is fantastic if you eat family style. Unfortunately, the waiters and waitresses speak poor English so if you don't speak Chinese, you may be missing out on some very good authentic dishes. I recommend that you bring someone who speak good Chinese to order. I also recommend the "small dragon buns" or phonetically "see-u long pao" you'll love it.

This place offers great food. Just about everything on the menu is delicious. I recommend the Indian flat bread with the curry dipping sauce. Its a light appetizer, but its EXCELLENT! They have a range of light foods like their almond salad to heavier foods like Mongolian beef over fried rice. The restaurant tips the scale as a little pricey, but if you appreciate well-prepared food, this a the place to take your friends and family. Plus, the mall is so close by that you could walk off a nice big meal.

For a casual cafe, this place offers top notch crepes and Asian desserts. They offer sago, ice cream, fruit crepes, and waffles. Want some real food? They offer rice dishes and sandwiches, and snacks like popcorn chicken or calamari (which is very good, but very greasy!). Feel like something good to drink? They also have boba, fruit smoothies, flavored teas, milk teas, etc. It is a friendly environment and is open very late every day of the week for those of you who like to stay up late.

This cafe/restaurant is open late and is therefore a good place to hang out if you are a nightlife type of person. This place offers smoothies with boba, food and dessert. However, it is a little on the pricey side and everyone who comes in must pay a sitting fee if they do not eat. Their food and drinks are mediocre for Asian cuisine, but it offers a social environment with cool decorations. I do not recommend this place, however. Go to the cafe 2 doors down BUBBLE ACT!

This shop offers hundreds of flavors of teas, coffees, smoothies, and pearl (boba) drinks. They offer awesome hot beverages for the winter and very satisfying cold iced and blended drinks for the hot weather as well. They also have a variety of icecream (which I don't recommend). However, they offer the iced desert with different toppings- which is fairly priced and is very good if you're looking for a light dessert. They also sell very rare asian candies that are just awesome!

This salon is very "trendy." If you ask them to style your hair in a trendy fashion, expect it to come out with outrageous colors like red or blue with a spiked do. However, if you give them a picture of what you want to have done, their stylists are very good and they will do exactly what you ask for. In addition, they are very good at giving expert advice on what cut is best for your own face shape. Their service is friendly, although the neighborhood doesn't look to friendly.
