From an Employee Perspective

Patients, do not be fooled by all the positive reviews here or the kind doctor you had on your last visit. I am a women anesthesiologist who has worked there a number of years (probably too many). For one thing, the doctor you saw is being paid an extraordinaty amount of money, of course they will smile to see you. In customer care, they get an A+, it's true. However, take a step into the Doctor's Lounge, and a different story emerges. Dr. Martin Serrins, Head of DOPS Anesthesia, discriminates against women doctors, and against those who he thinks weak and should do more work. I am a hardworking mother of 2. I almost lost my job to this man, and would have as a result, lost all my life's work. My life goal is to see my 2 beautiful children grow up to be great, educated, and healthy, just like any other mother out there. I simply can not stand to see a high-ranking department head, demean women and pay them less per month than their male counterparts. Next time your paying for your healthcare, think of the woman nurse or anesthesiologist who worked so hard to make your experience as smooth as possible, and realize, that that nurse or anesthesiologist may not see a penny of what you pay. I speak for all mothers and parents out there. How is it that even in today's society, we allow men to throw us around like their spare change, and that we support a business that does nothing to stop such appalling behavior. This is a moral injustice. I urge all readers to think seriously about this review, I am an anesthesiologist at Danbury. I ease you to sleep so you don't feel the pains of your operation. I take good tender loving care of every patient as if he or she was my own child, and I work hard no matter what injustices I know I'll face behind the scenes. I urge all readers to speak out against these ethical crimes, take action, and tell somebody important. I have filed civil rights complaints, I've posted stories in newspapers, I've done my civil duty. Now it's time to do yours.
