The Museum of Science and Industry is one of my favorites in Chicago. I have been going to this museum since i was a kid. My favorite exhibit there is the baby chicks exhibit where thye display hatching eggs and fully developed chicks. they have a new exhibit right now called Body Worlds where they have taken the human body and encased it in a polymer, and so in some places all you see is the skeleton, or just blood vessels and muscles. and they had posed these figures doing various activities such as playing chess to playing a sport. Their other exhibits include various industries such as the coal mine, a 727 airplane, cars, petroleum. And for their life sciences they have a giant heart that you can walk through. There are very many school and group activities and labs that one can join as well as events hosted throughout the year. check out this museum if you are in chicago.

The Shedd Aquarium is one of my favorite museums in Chicago. It has a large variety of habitats for fish, reptiles and amphibians. They have a dolphin show every few hours everyday which is quite a sight. Also they have a new Shark exhibit which will fascinate your kids. Their beluga whales exhibit costs extra. I think this is a wonderful museum to take your kids. If you plan on visiting the museum regularly be sure to buy a members pass which will save you money in the long run.

Lincoln Park zoo is a great attraction to take the kids on a nice summer day. It is located in Lincoln Park un in the northside off of Lake Shore Drive. Admission is free but you have to pay for parking at the meter or at the pay lot. They just made a new habitat for the wolves so you should check it out. They also have a nice farm section for the kids to pet the local animals and also feed the cows and goats. There is also a nice stream and lagoon for paddle boat rides.

There are two zoos in the Chicagoland area and Brookfield Zoo is the larger of the two. I have gone to this zoo for a few times now and i like it a lot. there are tram rides for the people who like guided tours. The zoo is divided by habitats and my favorite is the great apes habitat. They made the habitat to look like the jungle and did a great job in having the walkways to circle the enclosure. I highly recommend this zoo to families with kids. Be prepared to pay for both parking and admission.

Charlene Products is a great store for maniquins, beauty shop products and embroidery. They specialize in hairs and wigs, and tools for the training beautician. They also do embroidery work with stichings on virtually any material. I have used their services for making t-shirts for my univerisity dorm and could not be happier with their product. They were very quick in making samples for the review board residents and their delivery time is prompt. Their price is also very reasonable considering that this is high quality embroidery and not silk screen.

Safari Land is a nice coin operated arcade and rides place that is perfect for preteen kids. It is sorta like an older kids version of Chuck E Cheese but a more tame version of Gameworks. It is themed like a jungle which delights the younger kids. I would bring more cash with you if you go with a group of kids as 20 tokens can go by really fast.

Skokie Driving Range is a great place to go to practice your driving skills. It is a bi-level range, meaning tha tfor those who need to make it seem like you hit farther, try the second level. The balls come out automatically from the ground at each booth and the tee height can be adjusted from the console. The price is very reasonable with cards of $10-$50-$100. Skokie residents have a discount. I have been playing here for a few years now and am one of my favorites.

They also sell a nice variety of chinese style dishes with a wide variety of decorations. In addition they have many souvenirs to choose from little figurines to larger statues.
