Chicago's Museum of Contemporary Art 8/18/2005

The Museum of Contemporary Art ("MCA") is a great place to visit whether it is your first introduction to modern art, or you're an expert. The MCA's special exhibits (currently Dan Flavin: A Retrospective) almost always focus on one artist, and are always well done. The permanent collection, though small, is carefully selected and displayed in a great setting. While you're there, be sure to check out the gift shop with all sorts of well-designed, interesting items, and have a snack or meal at Wolfgang Puck's Cafe. The patio off the back of the museum provides a quiet place to enjoy a break. more
