If you want one of the best tile jobs in Seattle or environs and have some money to throw down--or should I say "invest"--then hire Marty Klukas of M.K. Tile. He knows what he is doing, can do very complicated work and gets the job done on time. He is perhaps a little more contractor friendly--meaning he does steady work for a limited group of contractors--than homeowner friendly, so you might want or need to suggest his name to your contractor or architect. Although you pay for his expertise and care, you will shower better knowing that you paid to do it right the first time.

When Bob retired some years back, I thought it would be the end of B&D. Everyone needs some sheet metal in their life, and especially on their homes. Whether its copper, aluminum, pre-primed or galvanized steel, your home usually doesn't do without it. In a city full of spendy sheet metal shops, B & D is one exception. They are better for simple flashings and copings than they are for very complicated projects, but this is only general advice. (And you might find that the price you pay for custom work at the higher end shops will encourage you to entrust the work to B&D anyway. And B & D prices are comparable with the big supply houses. Why settle for stock flashing sections and long lines when you can get exactly what you want and need at B & D.

I have used Terry Banks exclusively for several years for drywalling, taping, mudding and sanding needs. He works with a crew of hangers but usually tapes and finishes all of his jobs alone. This satisfies the modern desires for efficiency--hanging the drywall--with the craft and patience required to finish it. T.W. Banks does excellent work for very little $$$$. More importantly, he is agreat guy who enjoys a laugh. What more could you ask for to ease those late in the construction process tensions than T.W. Banks. He is the man for your interior home improvement needs.
