I decided to rent a car at the downtown location rather than at the airport because the price was about two-thirds less. A couple of days before I arrived I received a call confirming my reservation. I have never received a confirmation call from any car rental company before, so that was a nice touch. The location is small, but the staff was very friendly. Since I was travelling alone I rented a VW Beetle, which only had 700 miles on it, so it was a real definite bonus. The rental clerk spent several minutes showing me how things worked on this particular car, which was wonderful considering it has some unusual features. One drawback is that the car was given to me with an empty tank, so I had to immediately go to a gas station. I guess that is a drawback to renting a car downtown where they do not have their own pumps. The woman did offer to send one of the employees to the gas station if I wanted, but I opted to go myself on my way out of town. \r \r Now for the best part, on the day I was returning the car I began my journey in Steamboat Springs and there was a major blizzard. Needless to say, it took me 6+ hours to make the drive, which prevented me from returning the car to the downtown location. During a stop in Silverthorne I called the office and was told that the cost to drop off at the airport was an additional $100. I still was not certain I would not be able to return it to the Broadway location, but as the time wore on I realized I would have to go directly to the airport. Upon calling again, the gentleman at the office offered to split the $100 fee in half with me, which was great. It would have cost me around that amount to get to the airport by cab anyway. All in all I had a very good experience with Enterprise on Broadway. more
