These ratings are pretty outdated. I just joined in the middle of May, and Kirkwood did a very easy registration. There was even a coupon on their website that allowed me to not have to pay the registration fee. All of the managers I've met are very helpful: they guided me in equipment I wasn't sure of how to use. Furthermore, all members are allowed access to a wide variety of classes that range from morning to evening: yoga, zumba, an aquatics class, aerobics, etc. I've been to gyms where classes were not included in the package, but a member at Kirkwood is allowed to go to all of them. Furthermore, they have TV's now in the elliptical / cardio room. I'm not sure about elsewhere as I mainly am on an elliptical machine. You bring your own headphones and plug it into your machine, and can watch any channel you want. Anyone can come to this gym, and the managers are always checking to make sure everything is ok.
