Buyer beware 3/18/2012

I'm not sure if these people are genuine or rip-off artists. I was told I need a whole new set of ball joints and that it would cost $800. Something didn't sit well with me so I took my vehicle to another well respected tire shop. There they had three different mechanics take a look. They all agreed that my vehicle was fine and perfectly safe. They explained to me that even new vehicles have a little "play" in the joints and bearings. The second tire shop said completely the opposite of what Paul Williams said. Besides that, had I needed to get new ball joints it would have cost around $500, and that I wouldn't need to replace the whole control arm assembly. Now I know how important it is to get different mechanics prices and opinions before getting expensive work done. I'm not sure if I trust Paul Williams, I think they do good work but I feel they might have been pulling an expensive fast one on me. Because of this experience I would not take my car back there. If I was in dire need of new ball joints don't you think the three other mechanics would have agreed? Paul Williams really had their story down as to why it would cost so much, and that I should get this work done soon. Just be careful. Pros: null Cons: null more
