Dr. Hovander is the most thorough optometrist I have ever seen and I've been wearing glasses/contacts since I was a kid. He is patient, friendly, and detail-oriented. I should add I'm a particularly crappy patient because I often can't tell or change my mind about whether lens 1 or 2 is better. I also saw Richard for contact lens fitting even though I told him I planned to buy my contacts online cheaper. He was fine with that and took just as much care in my fitting. I'm on UW GAIP insurance and they took care of the paper work which was great. I've referred most of the other grad students in my cohort to Dr. Hovander.
