My wife and I LOVE Sekai Sushi. My parents lived in the Mesa/Gilbert area for 24 years and introduced us to it shortly after we were married. My wife didn't care for sushi and was not very excited about going (She has been to a few sushi joints in the Valley and didn't like any of them). I lived in the Philippines for a few years and had become accustomed to super fresh and delicious Japanese food and have been quite disappointed with sushi restaurants around town, so I was hesitant as well. My parents eventually won out and we went to Sekai. We were immediately hooked. The wait staff is friendly (although slow during busy dinner hours), the tables clean, and the food is INCREDIBLE. The sushi is fantastic and the seafood (while not as fresh as living next to the ocean) is better than I expected. My wife and I have gone back many times - we just can't get enough.
