Juniors is expensive. 18 dollars for a corned beef and pastrami combo sandwich served with cole slaw and two crisp-tendr hush puppies? I guess. It's good, but Jeez. No bargain here.
The corned beef and pastrami combo sandwhich is almost too much meat. It smelled a little gamey--maybe it was the combination of the two meats, or something. Of course the meat was incredibly tender, and enough for two.
The restaurant decor is dated, and that's part of its charm, I guess. But it could use some new carpeting to freshen the place up a bit. And Junior could put on a fresh shirt before he makes the rounds.
The real entertainment is the side show of circus freak seniors here, Hollywood style. These matrons have had plastic surgery. Hair done up and dyed like Ann Miller, dressed to the nines, screaming to each other across the table-- WHAT?! WHAT?! I CAN'T HEAR YOU! The carved faces, sequins, dyed do's and deafness are ripe for a documentary.
Kudos to the overworked waitresses here--terffic service, and didn't bat an eye when we asked for separate checks.
