Great Review by Washington Post, Phantom Diner & More! 6/14/2011

1st, must say...Heart of the Bayou comes with melt in the mouth catfish-3 nice size strips, doesn't come with (correct spelling)jambalaya-comes with ""real"" seafood gumbo & not six, but 5 good sized plump shrimp with juicy crawfish tails all in a delightfully seasoned chopped garlic 'n butter ""scampish"" dish. The homemade hushpuppies are amazing with premise made honey butter-melt in the mouth! What is nice-no grease as all are prepared the right way! The clam strips are great in the homemade tartar sauce and the ""frizzled"" onions are so good, some folks order just baskets of them to munch on with beer. And if you're there late enough many times FREE baskets come out to the bar ....yum! There is NO ""crabby patty"" on the menu...a Crabby Pork-an all tme customer fav! Two seasoned grilled pork loin slices with crab layered in between and a silky fire roasted pepper cream sauce with crab drizzled over top! Too yummy! It is NOT a sandwich....although what is really cool that the State of Pa. featured in their ""Pursuits Magazine"" is the Cajun Whoopy Pie! Incredibly sweet corn bread top & bottom with crab filling and a creamy dreamy mushroom sauce on the side. If you pour that on top and soak it in-WOW! Google the mag from winter 2010 and see the pictures, etc. -a 4 pg. spread. So you see-propaganda to say untruths is the main downfall of the internet! After 21 years in bizz. these folks really do it right! Catering is in the order of things too-from the Governors Mansion, Lauxmont Farms, high end to back yard BBQ's. And the music is great too! Go and see for yourselves-this is the place to go for polished casual dining! more
