After realizing that I could not open my passenger door from the outside of my 2007 ‘Chevy Cobalt’ even after using my key to unlock it I brought it to these clowns to repair and do an oil change. When I got it back I was able to open my door again from the outside but my car was telling me that I still needed an oil change! After I called them they told me that I had to reset the change oil display myself. A week and a half later I just happened to use my key to unlock the passenger door. SURPRISE!!! My lock was inoperative. Apparently the professional who worked on my door either failed to mention that he broke or lost the clip need to secure the lock mechanism to the rest of the handle he was fixing in hopes that I wouldn’t check or he’s just plain incompetent. In either case when I brought my car back for a full day and nothing was done. I complained to the “assistant manager” who was reluctant to admit any wrong doing because “plastic parts crack and break” (…forget about being lost or broken during the repair.) I was told that he’d look into it “the paper work” – (code for ‘I’m not going to do anything’) and give me a call. Yeah, right. So, I called corporate. 1-800-PEP-BOYS. They were going to call me back within 48 hrs. Good thing I called 30 hrs later to find out that Mr. Assistant Manager “ADAM” had my claim closed because I complained to him the day before I opened the complaint. WHAT?!? So now I have to wait another 48 hrs after reopening my complaint. I doubt anything will be done about this since I keep getting jerked around so, CONSUMER BE WARNED !!! If you bring your car to this BOYS club to be fixed. Do not be surprised if your car problem is just replaced by another. more
