Shake the hand of a soldier's mother... 2/24/2011

I have been in San Antonio for just about four days now, and had the pleasure of stopping in today, twice. :) My throat was parched and in need of the mineral rich sweet tea this town is known for. Though I happened in at an early, semi awkward time, the help and assistance the staff and ownership were willing to show to a random stranger was enough to set me back in my boots and take notice. Since I was in a bit of a hurry and needed to post some things for my volunteers group, Texas Soldiers Initiative I could only imagine the near-panic that must have shown on my face when I was informed that there was no wi-fi available just yet. (There had been a mix-up on the delivery of computer equipment for the establishment.) The lady behind the antique, malt shop style counter was overwhelmingly helpful..even going so far as to offer me her own personal air card and key code. I noticed the picture on her desktop computer of a soldier overseas, in what looked like the sands of Afghanistan or Iraq... and decided to mention my volunteer work as of late. You should come in for a handshake with this proud reserve mother, and stay for anything else that may occur. -Review by, Alex Gaddy Co-Founder Texas Soldiers Initiative more
