My friends and I went to see the 7pm showing of Sherlock Holmes 2 on 12/17/11. The movie in and of itself was phenomenal and highly recommended. The experience, on the other hand, was far below the standard even for a locally owned establishment. There was a family with an infant who cried nearly the entire movie. Both myself and my fiance reported this to the management, a female of middle age and blonde hair. She assured us both times that she or one of her staff would investigate and see to the issue. At the end of the movie, one of the family members had his cell phone go off, which he took several rings to answer, and then he had a conversation despite many of the patrons telling him to take it outside. After the movie, my fiance and I asked for our money back as although we sought management's help, nothing came of it. The manager informed us that both she and her staff made near-constant patrols including she herself walking clear to the front of the theater and back again and never once heard a baby cry. She also told us that she asked several of the patrons if they had heard a child crying at any time during the movie and was told no. She refused to refund our money but did offer to let us watch the next showing tonight free of charge. Our friends and ourselves have been faithful patrons and have even put on pirate performances on many occasions to help attract business and to advertise the latest movies playing at the Silver Screen. There are roughly 30 of us who will not be returning to this establishment. It was bad enough that we had to endure an infant crying for the majority of the film and then to have the jerk talking on his phone, but to have the manager outright lie to us and treat us like fools is disgraceful. Go to the Rave or to the Carmike if you want to watch a film untainted by shoddy management.
