Relieve imposed economic stress 11/13/2011

Twenty years ago about now City Hall sold out Kiel Opera House to protect the Fox and also began selling out the MUNY.. to protect the Fox, and now Chafeitz. This has caused what has grown to a $500 million dollar annual loss to St. Louis in entertainment-driven revenue. A 7 weeks MUNY draws 400,000 a 13 weeks MUNY with at least concerts thru Sept. draws 900,000. Dogtown is hurt severely by this restraint of trade. No one has dinner in Dogtown when they can bring food to free Shakespeare or Twilight Tuesdays. All the festivals in the Park that squeeze MUNY sell their own food. Kansas City opens Starlight in May and didn't close til October 8th. They do travel and show packages. Your aldermen have caved to the 'powers', all of them. Gonna get worse. Get smart and do something. Restraint of trade violates federal law. more
