Well I took my cat there for a simple UTI. Should have been quick and painless, I have been down this road before. They wanted to keep him overnight for ""observation"" so I said fine, even though they couldn't find any blockage on the X-ray and his bladder was not hard. I was told I would only be charged around $150. Long story short, they kept dragging out the time they kept him and kept him for 4 DAYS, just for ""observation"" while they waited for test results. Um, they have an in-house lab, it DOES NOT TAKE 4 DAYS to get a urinalysis result. Then when I finally come to get my cat the bill is $300! They were supposed to authorize any additional tests with me, but I was NEVER NOTIFIED OF ANYTHING beyond the initial X-ray and urinalysis. Suddenly there's a bill for cultures and blood work, plus boarding fees, then the meds they prescribed. I expected to be billed for meds but since they just kept him for 3 extra days without my okaying it I was really shocked they would just continue to charge me. I was like WTF I can't pay this and they were like well then you will have to leave the cat here. Seriously. So I paid up but I AM NOT going back there. The vet I used to go to in Texas never ever ever charged me this much or kept him over night for a simple UTI. Also they prescribed maybe an antibiotic and a diuretic which cleared the problem super quick...but these people gave me an antibiotic, a steroid, and some medicine that is NOT EVEN APPROVED for use in animals. They had given it to him just before I came to get him, and by the time I got him home he could barely walk, was shaking and wobbly and breathing rapidly. Yeah so I am not giving that to him anymore. Don't go here if you want to pay a reasonable price and don't want your pet to go through unnecessary stress. There are plenty of vets in the MD area who won't over charge you, lie to you, or refuse to do their due diligence. I was never informed of the side effects of the medicines they prescribed, i had to look them up. I didn't have Molesworth, it was one of his staff, so I don't know if he's all he's cracked up to be, but if you absolutely must go to this clinic you'd better tell them you will see no one but Molesworth. The vet I had was an associate and she basically just ran whatever test she wanted, didn't ask me beforehand and I got stuck with a huge bill, and she never updated me on my cat's health or status or anything while she was keeping him for 3 days longer than she was supposed to. If I wanted to know if he was ok I had to call. And I would pay anything to keep my baby healthy, but at the same time I do not need to go to a vet who only sees clients and their animals as cash opportunities. Only good thing was they saw me the same day I called and I didn't have to wait long in the office the day I took him in...I guess I made up for it in waiting time while they were holding my cat hostage and running unnecessary tests. more
