Liberty Tree Tavern is my favorite Magic Kingdom restaurant. It is a piece of subdued Colonialism in a sea of amusement park nonsense. Of course, it seems weird to go into a tavern which doesn’t serve alcohol.\r

There is a wide lunch menu with fish, pot roast, New England clam chowder, and Maryland crab-cakes. The atmosphere is Williamsburg congenial.\r

I actually prefer dinner, which is ironically a character meal. The layout of the tables allows the Disney characters to freely wander to each child without the usual stampede found at other character meals. I also think Minnie Mouse makes a nice Betsy Ross.\r

Dinner is an all-you-can eat feast of roast turkey slices, flank teak, ham, pork chops and a great selection of vegetables. There is a limited vegetarian menu and lots of stuff for fussy kids.\r

The restrooms are upstairs so this is a poor choice for handicapped or very elderly customers. As usual, the prices are resort-oriented.\r

Pros: Low-key character dinner with American comfort food
Cons: Somewhat bland menu, upstairs bathrooms.
