The Good The Bad The Let Them Eat Cake (Just Not Ours) 7/3/2010

Had to edit down, so here is what is most salient: There are self-serve $8 and $9 a pound breakfast and dinner hot foods in self serve counters. Nice choices which include Indian and Mexican dishes, but most of the Mexican food is tasteless and most all items are too salty . A decent size combo box can be about $30.00. Bad place to shop when you're hungry. --- BAD NEWS TO MANY OUT HERE: I have to go with organic as much as possible for health considerations. Recently, ""new execs"" have gotten rid of a lot of the bulk food bins, already lessening for some time, and worse yet....The end-of-shelf-time discounted meats/fish bin. (Why? To put off as in eschew ""less-desirable"" i.e. less well-off clientele, so I have heard) --- With the already-exorbitant prices of their meats, etc. this was the only way I could afford to get any there and will now have to drive to Whole Foods across town or perhaps Trader Joe's --- HINT HINT -> Perhaps with enough pressure they will reverse that decision. But they seem to want to cater to millionaires exclusively. --- It was bad enough the discounts per the above were by then much less than the traditional half-price (and in a few careless cases I have on cam, discounts exceeded original price) and during a time that the general prices have gone sky-high. I guess my spending hundreds of bucks a month there is not enough to have some consideration that as an artist my income is unpredictable and as a person who does not believe in letting the abandoned go abandoned in the name of self-help first, I use all (and I mean all) profits beyond my basic needs plus high med costs to assist others in serious need and trouble, such as trafficked women, etc. So no doubt will be going there less, as I have to have funds to use for this effort . Recently, I started shopping at my corner market which is surprisingly tolerable (more than most such) though limited and super costly and that place I found to be till under Andronico's prices Good for selections of beverages and some other stuff. While I will be heading to Other Avenues (30 blocks west) for bulk and maybe organics..no doubt will still get to Andronico's due to scheduling issues that have me shop at last minute and it's the nearest decent place around here but.... well let's put it this way... those prices are surely a ""God-thing"" t keep my on my diet, I am surprised many more don't bust out laughing to read them. Maybe that plan to attract millionaires has worked already Pros: near, partking, decent stuff, growing organics, beverages Cons: HIgh prices can induce non-stop laughing or tears, whichever more
