In all fairness it would pretty much impossible to find a cheaper place in Rittenhouse Sq., but keep in mind there is Rittenhouse (charming quiet residential Pine st. for example) and then there is Rittenhouse (ridiculously loud, constantly busy, overrun by the homeless and the weekend drunks Chestnut st.). The apartments themselves are nice and well sized and clean and freshly painted upon move in and with laundry facilities (no storage facilities) on site. The landlord is nice enough and polite and will help you with any minor problems promptly, just don't ask for any help with something more major than say a minor repair or you will encounter some dishonesty and a total lack of flexibility. All in all, decent livable spaces if you have a high noise tolerance. If noise bothers you, this is not a place for you, walls, floors and ceilings are PAPER THIN. You will hear every step, every bump, etc. and it will sound VERY loud. If your neighbors smoke, the smoke will drift into your apartment. If they have a party, you will be kept up. You will also be constantly accosted by the homeless right outside your house. So, yeah, those be the cons. Now, the pros are, as I've said before, the price, the space, good water pressure, adequate (controlled by the landlord, not by you, but free) heat and responsive maintenance and also, Robins Apts. keeps the apt. building clean and accepts packages for you and is flexible with move-in dates. Pros: cheap rent for location, responsive maintenance Cons: paper thin walls, ceilings, NOISE galore more
