2 visits with 2 separate pets, over the years. Ferret paralyzed from waist down. Waited close to 3 hours, after 1.5 hours, I was told that it was not urgent by receptionist.. ""More important emergencies where ahead"". My years of working in a trauma center as an RN, lead me to have a different opinion. Other pet, came running in from backyard. Greyhound bit by rattle snake (which is what I suspected) about 10 pm. Was told that it was another dog bite (despite my opinion of the snake bite). I stayed with dog all night, which did survive (they did give him fentanyl patch). I even request anti-snake venom, and was told I the dog did not need it since it was a dog bite. Confirmed snake bite with my vet the following am (she had seen 7 or 8 snake bites) and confirmed with Pinellas County Sheriff snake expert on later day. Pros: Late night access Cons: Marginal quality more
