This large, wooden-planked pit house literally rose from the ashes (an early 90's fire nearly closed the doors forever) to become nearly as recognizable of a landmark as its neighbor the ""Big Chicken"". The sweet, tangy sauce that has become the hallmark of the brothers Williamson is featured early and often. Chopped pork plates with rich brunswick stew and creamy mac and cheese is served right along grilled half chickens with corn on the cob. Fried pickles are a great way to get things started while you look around to notice tons of antique license plates, letters of congratulation from plenty of conservative politicos, and other southern accoutrements. The freshest food will be found during the predictably busier times - so avoid the late tuesday lunches and you'll be fine.
