I've grown up in the area but sadly had always just ""passed by"" Eastern. My Mom said she went years ago and couldn't remember the quality. One day we decided to try the food. The atmosphere is great. Its really small, but they have marble tables and very pretty braided-like upholstery on the booths (so they've obviously put money into updating the place). The service is good, not overtly friendly or in your face, which is good with us. The food is amazing, even the fried rice. Usually, Chinese restaurants don't make as good of fried rice as Japanese restaurants. Theirs is really fresh and good. The food is always top quality. I took my husband and in laws there one day and they also enjoyed it. The portions are generous and all of us were able to get just enough. We will be back many more times.
