Visit Applebee at Bayshore and get disciminated upon 10/18/2010

No doubt it is good location - in the Bayshore mall area, and without argument - the food is good and affordable especially at lunch times on the weekdays. Waitress - very friendly and helpful. However, the HOSTESS was horrible. A senior Afro-American lady who obviously has selected us as the objects for discrimination. She sat us in the worst location, with my chair standing literally in the pathway where all the waitresses walked through and with the cashier's counter right behind my back - although there was a cozy sofa free and all the tables in this row - free. We immediately asked whether we could move to the sofa. The hostess said NO, and did not give any explanation. She mumbled something and dissappeared quickly. Luckily, the neigbouring sofa got free immediately, and the waitress in her turn has accommodated us at this table, as the other table at the sofa still remained free and with no ""reserved"" sign at it. As time passed, we observed how people kept being seated by the hostess, and it turned out that another blond caucasian woman (like me) got seated similarly at the wooden table, whereas the rest of the visitors who were Afro-Americans - got seated immediately at the sofas - without any problem. Obviously, the lady treated everyone based on her inner beliefs which I find not proper for a place that practices good customer service. I would not recommend this place to a friend. more
