I was fast becoming a regular at The Olive Tree. Their food is delicious, fresh and a fantastic value for your money. The lunch staff is ever so friendly. And most of the times, especially when the owners are present, the evening service is great. However, you can always tell when they are not there because the service drops a few (considerable) notches. On our last (and it will be our last) visit, we were told to sit anywhere to then be told coarsely that our seating choice had been reserved (unmarked) by the people on the adjacent booth and that we weren't allowed to sit there. We were then told we would have to wait for them to clean some tables (the place was not full) and put them together (we were a party of 5). Their attitude was awful (rolled eyes, smarmy comments among the servers) and it was a no-brainer that we were not going to stay. It is a pity because the food is really great.
