Unfortunately, I went to the first place I found that would take my insurance. On my first appointment Dr. Shaw identified 17 (YES, 17) moles that would need biopsies including a spot that was on my lower lip. He ended up doing only 7 that day and wanted to bring me back for several other visits to get the rest. This started to sound like he was making money per biopsy!?!? In the mean time, I made an appt with another Dr who said that Dr Guitierrez's practice has a reputation for being over zealous with the amount of cutting they like to do. Additionally, he told me not to worry abou the thing on my lip, told me it was just a freckle under the skin, and then showed me that HE HAD ONE TOO!!! Of the remaining dozen moles that Dr. Shaw wanted to biopsy, the new Dr. suggested all but one simply be placed on a watch list!!! Amazing difference. Not to mention the office staff was 10X more helpful and friendly.
Cons: Unnecessary Biopsies - Must be getting paid on Piecework...
