My fiance and I applied for an apartment through this company on September 24, 2009. We requested multiple times to see the lease before we put down our money ($149), they (Deb) refused saying they could not print a lease until we have been approved. Not knowing any better we put down the money, confident that an ethical business would not behave in the manner that the management has since behaved. We were approved September 28, 2009. We went in the same day to get a copy of the lease, the lease was finally provided. Within the lease we found multiple clauses that we were not comfortable living with. The primary one was that air conditioning failure was not considered an emergency repair and under the terms of the lease, they only had to fix it within 7 business days – which is completely unacceptable given that this is Florida and most of the year is excruciatingly hot. The afternoon of the 28th we called management and requested our moneys returned because we would not sign the lease. For the last two days, management has stalled, ignored, and “hid” from us by pretending to be out of the office, refusing to return phone calls, etc. I am seeking resolution in the form of moneys returned promptly. We made a good faith deposit, and they have decided to act more like scam artists than professionals.
