Our son is going into 7th grade and six months ago he could barely read. His Dad thought he was lazy, but I believed it was something else. We had tried everything from flash cards to summer school to taking away everything in an attempt to get him to read. Nothing worked. At last, we took him to Sylvan and within weeks his attitude towards reading changed. Within 6 months he was well above grade level and was reading for pleasure. The staff and teachers really cared about our son.Sylvan can be expensive, but they also have affordable programs.
