As a frequent diner at Jakes in South Miami, I have supported this ""local"" restaurant for many years. Recently (last two weeks) this neighborhood bar and restaurant has gone through a refreshing update including some new food items to a very inviting, current interior design. The upgraded food menu has some interesting choices like: Boards (several International nibbles offering fresh crudites, cheeses, and pates) to my favorite -- Lucy's Special (a mouth watering pork roast served with delicious pickled onions and a mojo cream sauce brought to your table in a cast iron crock) it is the BEST. As always, the staff is friendly, the drinks poured well, and the food --delicious, including my old favorite Patrick's Special. A terrific achievement in the art of re-inventing one's self.
