Visiting New York with my wife during ""Restaurant Week"", I researched restaurants in the Gramercy/Flat Iron/Chelsea neighborhoods and found Angelo and Maxie's. We made our long distance reservations over the phone, which was an efficient and pleasant experience in itself. Unlike the previous evening where the restaurant offered a limited RW menu with many surcharges added, A&Ms offered their specialties at the standard RW rate of $35 for three courses. The service was efficient and gracious, and the 12-oz filet mignon literally melted in our mouths. Furthermore, the chef produced a ""medium well"" and ""medium"" which matched our expectations perfectly. The first-course salad was both ample and fresh. Lastly, I opted for the NY cheesecake dessert while my more disciplined wife chose the fruit (and couldn't resist some of MY delicious fattening item!). All in all, it was a fine experience which capped off a fine day in NYC.
