Bety's is the best authentic mexican food in San Diego!
Here in San Diego there is definitely no shortage of mexican food, but to find authentic mexican food that doesn't make your stomach hurt is a tad bit more difficult.
Bety's is hidden in a small strip mall in Encinitas, it is a simple setting, with modest out door seating next to a nice flowing fountain. What makes this place even better is that it is a family run business. Walk into Bety's on any given day and you will likely be greeted by her son wearing a huge smile and a kick ass Mohawk. I feel like a guest in their home, not in their restaurant.
The best part of Bety's is the food..duh! I can't say that I have tried many things on the menu because I immediately fell in love with their chicken enchiladas which my boyfriend and I usually share along with a Sope and of course their chips and salsa. Everything is so fresh, and not at all greasy which seems to be the problem with other mexican around town. Bety's also has bottled beer and wine, along with yummy Mexican Coke and other pure cane sodas.
The prices at Bety's allow for more frequent visits because it won't break the bank.
Bety's is my one and only when I want mexican.
