I pass by Salinas, CA, frequently and always stop at El Charrito Market at 122 West Market Street rather than stop for bland brand name fast food. The chile verde is to die for and the remainder of menu is also fantastic. People are friendly. I am anglo but have tried Mexican food all over the southwest and this place is the ""real deal"". I recommend the chile verde burritos but try the breakfast burritos too. Also fresh flour tortillas made in the store daily. My kids love the bean burritos.
