Authentic cuisine with no match in Sacramento

Monday, August 18, 2008
Hoicin is by far the best Chinese food in Sacramento, on the same level as the authentic Chinese restaurants in San Francisco's Chinatown. I had the good luck to live in Rosemont (near where Hoicin is located) for three years and was a weekly customer. Now that I live downtown I still drive the twenty minutes to Hoicin when I can; there is just no other Chinese food in Sacramento on par with Hoicin. If you want authentic Chinese food you won't be satisfied anywhere else. Personally I would recommend the Mongolian beef as their best dish. Additionally, the food is served fast (dine-in and to-go orders are often ready within five minutes of putting in the order) and the staff understands the meaning of true customer service. If I could give them more than five stars I would. Pros: The best food, excellent service, and fast. Cons: The only drawback is the location; the ambience level is average.
