....surprise, this cute little place was. A friend and I had been walking around the East Village on Sunday afternoon (7/13/08) after having had a lovely brunch about an hour or so before we literally ran into Bar 82. It was indeed a pleasant stop off - we were hot and wanted a drink in a cool spot. The Happy Hour sign outside is what really drew us in, offering 2 for 1 well drinks, etc. I ordered vodka and cranberry and she ordered an Appletini. The drinks were strong, the atmosphere welcoming, the music good (someone had just loaded up the jukebox with some lovely oldies - from Do-op to Hall and Oates) and the bartender - so very gracious. My friend's Appletini was huge and I got my 2 for 1 well drink special - all together, 3 drinks came to a grand, cheap total $11 and another hour of our ""girl's day out"" was well spent at Bar 82. I am going back there and SOON!
