I had a similar experience with this company. I was referred to Polly from someone who knew her, but did not get a cake from her. We had a 1 1/2 year engagement so that we would have plenty of time to plan our wedding without pressure. I contacted Polly at about 10 months prior to our date and she explained to me that this was too early to hold a spot for a cake with her. She asked that I call back 6 months before. So that I did, and she was really rude this time. Explaining that she was too busy now, she'll be making fewer cakes and that her minimum was around $2,000 now. I had told her that this was strange because she told me to call her back at this time but she seemed unapologetic and unsympathetic. Despite her obvious attitude, I tried to be polite but deep down inside I was really disappointed and felt like we had been bamboozled.
