I don't even know how to describe the experience we had. My sister had planned a birthday dinner for her husband's 31st bday. We had been to the restaurant at Argyle before but not since the renovations. We were twelve people for dinner and she had spoken to the manager on the phone several times leading up to the event. She had mentioned that a few people may join us after dinner for drinks. (It is a restaurant/bar supposedly). After dinner had ended at 10:30, the manager told us that he had called the police and had a full tantrum that we had lied to him. When questioned what this meant, he broke into hysterics and screamed that we had promised to only be twelve people. Mind you the restaurant was almost completely empty. Since the time that dinner had ended, exactly four people had joined us. Just to let you know: we were all still ordering drinks ($$), we had already paid for our overpriced and mediocre dinner, and the group is not a rowdy crowd. Everyone is in their late 20's to early 30's and are professionals. The psychotic manager got our bday cake from the kitchen and threw it on the table (in front of the poor bday boy) and told us to get out. We were beyond shocked. I tried to calm him down but he was almost in tears he was so emotional. It was like a bad joke. My poor sister had invited several of her husband's colleagues from his law firm and was mortified in front of them. Thankfully, my husband ran over to Boa Restaurant and secured several tables and we walked over and had drinks. The waitress at Boa even let us sing happy bday and cut his cake for us. I think that the manager of Fenix restaurant has some serious issues and even the staff and security were apologizing for his erratic behavior. The worst part is that Fenix may have a lot of potential in the future if it were not for the unprofessional, atrocious behavior of its manager. It has a good layout since the renovation and its location is convenient. It's truly a shame.
