I had been to Lopez several times a few years ago but I remembered it fondly as having gorgeous vistas and a great and long standing organic farming tradition. I hadn't stayed at the Edenwild, though, opting for vacation rentals on the south side of the island. I can't say how nice it was to stay in town and walk to the cute little shops and eateries. I saw more art, more references to organic food, and had more yummy foodie choices in general to make than on my last visits. Back at the B&B, I felt like we were were staying with friends who had gave us the keys to their incredibly beautiful, comfortable, clean house and fed us and showed us where all the cool stuff to do was and then let us disappear into our own private world. Our room had a fireplace, and even though it wasn't the weather for it, we lit a fire and enjoyed it. I slept like I can't remember and actually thought about calling in sick the next day. We can't wait to go back.
