Horrible at sizing appropriately, good price 6/10/2008

This past February, my future sister-in-law, my mom, and I headed to Bravura to get fitted for my future SIL's wedding. I had no problem with my measurements, however they convinced my mom to buy a dress that was a little snug, convincing her that SPANX and a continued diet would get her in the dress before the wedding. Needless to say, that didn't happen and we had to rush out to get a second dress for her.\r \r One of the bridesmaids is from out of town. She's also pregnant. The dress shop took her measurements and ordered her dress based on her largest measurement. This would be fine, except the largest measurement is her waist. Maternity wedding gowns have no waist. The dress came back at least two sizes too large; it looked like a HUGE sack. The dress is going to be completely taken apart in order to get it back down into a reasonable size. When the bride called the shop and complained, they informed her that this is their policy - they order dresses by the largest sizes. Clearly these people do not know how to size/order maternity dress! The alterations estimate is $200++, and the dress was only around $150 to begin with. Pros: Price Cons: Sizing issues more
