BEST SUSHI IN MAUI. OK, my wife is a self-proclaimed ""sushi snob"". We live in L.A. and if it's not Nobu, The Hummp or Nak-d Sushi, she's not interested. We ate at Paradise two years ago and have been dreaming about it ever since. After eating there again tonight, we confirmed our deep gratification for a chef (Akira Watanabe) who uses his experience and talent to select the best fish at market, and serve it up humbly at his little ""don't blink or you'll miss it"" sushi bar in Kihei. It's hidden in a Long's Druug Store center, and only the most astute hotel concierges know about it, but once you've eaten there, you won't believe the flavors and the portions. For $35, I had the sashimi platter that featured no fewer than two dozen tantelizing pieces of sashimi (2 each of about a dozen delicacies). Would have cost me double on the mainland, and wouldn't have been half as gourmet. DO NOT MISS this place on your visit to Maui. But (shhhhh) don't tell anyone - the locals like to keep it to themselves! Enjoy, if you love your sushi!
