My husband and I dined here without a reservation on a week night. Even though the restaurant was packed we were seated at the counter right away. The pasta was fresh and delicious, the pesto was a little over powering. The portions were a great size and very filling. Our problem was with the service. We had almost finished our appetizer by the time our beverages arrived. The Coke that the waitress brought was 1/2 Coke and 1/2 melted ice. Several more times duing the meal the waitress offered to refill our drinks, the glasses were rather small so we accepted. When we got our bill it was quite a bit higher than we expected - about $20.00 more. We were charged for every Coke - these were Cokes that were on tap and delivered each time with melted ice. The last Coke was brought about 5 minutes after we got our check. On the way out of the restaurant, I stopped the person I thought was a manager, a guy with a suit and a shaved head and I complimented him on the food and told him that we were stunned to be charged $20 dollars for soft drinks. His response was a nasty ""this is a restaurant"". Wow, a restaurant. The majority of fast food restaurants don't charge for soft drink refills. Most fine dining restaurants in the Mission don't charge for refills either.
