Flaky Management and False Advertising= New Age Studio Cashing in on Yuppies Frivolity 4/25/2008

I was excited to find a yoga studio near my house-- and one that had classes in the morning that fit my schedule at that-- so I decided to try out a class. I went to a Tuesday evening class that I liked, and I especially liked that there was room to move in there (unlike another studio I've been to). I was glad that I had experience with yoga before coming here, though, because there wasn't really any instruction, just an instructor calling out the poses. However, I was pleased enough that I was considering purchasing their $180/3 month introductory rate. But the 2nd time I went back, to go to one of the 7am classes I was so excited about, all I found were a few people waiting outside the door who told me the building was locked and the teacher had left in a huff because he couldn't get in to teach. VERY disappointing! So I went home to email them to ask what the deal was, since the people waiting outside told me this had happened several times before. I naturally was dubious about spending a chunk of money on something that I couldn't use. Before I emailed, I even checked to see if they had posted something about 'no class' on their website, but no. So I wrote an email. Guess what? NO RESPONSE. Pretty bad business people, if you ask me. Now I'm torn because I don't feel right paying anyone money who doesn't even care about a potential client enough to reply with a simple apology. Plus now I definitely believe that their 7am classes often go ignored. My conclusion? FALSE ADVERTISING, and VERY FLAKY MANAGEMENT who obviously rake in enough cash from the rich people silly enough to spend $375 for 3 months of yoga at an unpredictable studio. Sorry, but for that amount of cash, these people should really be treating their clients with a little more respect. Chant Namaste as much as you want to, this studio is just another flaky new age hang-out cashing in on the San Francisco Yuppies' will to spend any amount on the latest trend. Pros: Lots of space, Good Introductory package rate Cons: Unpredictable schedule, Flaky management, BAD customer service more
