casual, fun, decent meal

Tuesday, February 19, 2008
I had two good meals here recently. There are some odd things on the menu, so I can't vouch for everything, but I had a caesar salad with shrimp, which I liked, and my date had soft tacos with shrimp, avocado, black beans and rice which she liked as well. My salad had baked cubes of tofu instead of croutons, which was fun and the tacos had cabbage instead of lettuce, which worked pretty well. The shrimp were fresh and nicely grilled. We shared some green tea ice cream which was flavorful. The place is casual and funky with twinkling star lights on the ceiling. Nothing amazing, but a nice place in a neighborhood with a lot of high-end restaurants. I recommend it before going to one of the nearby theaters or maybe Irving Plaza. Pros: funky atmosphere, unusual menu Cons: slightly over-priced; menu may not be of even quality.
