Resting on its Laurels

I have dined at Cafe Pasqual's several time over the years. My most recent experience (1/08) may be my last. Although we were greeted by a friendly host and seated relatively promptly, our server was brusque and unhelpful, seemingly resentful that he had to serve customers at all. The food was tasty, but only in an ordinary way. None of the dishes our party of five ordered piqued anyone's interest. Certainly no entrees justified their high prices. Established restaurants in Santa Fe sometimes rest on their laurels and lose their way, perhaps seduced by the ready money of the tourist trade. This fate, alas, seems to have befallen Cafe Pasqual's.
Pros: Still a fun atmosphere
