We used to stop in at Happy Jack's (the Fuel Dock) when ever we came to town. It was lots of fun! Then it changed hands and the new owners seemed to be making great changes. They obviously dumped a lot of dough into the place and it looked very nice. Best of all, the place was set up to showcase live bands on the weekends. A great stage and dancing area were sectioned off from the ubiquitous pool tables and juke box. We spent a wonderful New Year's eve there one year. Finally, Morro Bay now had a quality place to hear live music and to dance the night away. The bar tenders were friendly and vibe was cool! ...Then, for some unknown reason, all this turned to just a memory. Our favorite bar keeps quit, the bar stopped having live music and on the dance floor they put a giant Snooker table (?) to be sure you couldn't dance even to the juke box. Well, we don't go there any more... it's just like every other bar out there. So yeah, you can get a drink there and play some pool to the juke box, but live music? Forget it!
