funky chinese restaurant with good to above avg food

Friday, September 21, 2007
better ambiance than most chinese restaurants at the same price. has a bar with fun drinks and ample seating for large groups. sometimes have a wait so make reservations fri/sat nite during peak hrs. for late nite chinese food it's an excellent option but some dishes look better than they really are. they do congee (rice porridge) well, and they have great other soups, but this baked rice item on the menu is not tasty. my opinion, of course. staff are not super friendly but usually very efficient. You can expect a non-Chinese crowd here in addition to the Chinese crowd, b/c it's at the fringe of Chinatown. Pros: Good food and ambiance Cons: inconsistent with food, service quality
